In response to growing customer demand in the medical device market, GW Plastics announced today its purchase of Avenue Mould Solutions, a premier precision mold building, machining, and injection molding company based in Sligo, Ireland.

R&D initiatives in this company are co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Enterprise Ireland under the Border, Midland and Western Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020.

In response to increased demand for our services we have recently invested in new machine tools and metrology equipment, having acquired our fourth Roders high-speed mill, a Roders RXP 500DS, as well as an IMS Impact 5.6.5 coordinate measuring machine and a Hurco VM20i CNC mill.

To further augment our mould testing capability, we have added a new moulding machine to our mould test facility – a 150 tonne all-electric press from Fanuc’s latest iα generation of machines.

Med-Tech Innovation Expo, the UK’s only medical device design, research, engineering and manufacturing event, is taking place from 20th-21st April 2016 at Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK.

Avenue Mould Solutions has announced the completion of its new 300m² Class 8 (Class 100,000) Cleanroom. The new facility, which currently houses five moulding machines, is already producing short-run and pilot production components for a number of blue-chip customers.
